My dad would probably think this memorial was totally ridiculous! He never went in for hearts and flowers. He died unexpectedly, having been fighting cancer for some months. Although it was a chest infection which finally claimed him, he never really stood a chance of beating his illness due to the lack of care he received from his G.P. He wanted desperately to win his battle, but his G.P. took away any possibility of that by not taking his many symptoms seriously - until it was too late. These things happen, however, and when I look at the ages of some of the angels on here, I realise that he lived a full life for 64 years. He began his career with the Army and travelled the world disabling unexploded granades. He left his beloved Army only after losing some fingers in an explosion. He then spent his remaining working years transporting various weapons around RAF bases. He had three children and several grandchildren. He didn't want to give up his fight but he had no choice. He's doing okay now, and has met up with his very best friend, Bill. He comes to visit a lot, which is lovely. As a bereavement counsellor and also a Medium, I know both sides of loss and feel comforted by my conviction that our loved ones are always absolutely fine when they pass.

STARS TO DUST by Jody Dickey

God must have needed you
More than we do
He needed another angel in his place
To help watch over his stars in space
With your wings you'll shine bright
So we can see Heaven at night
They will light our way
So we can join you someday
He left us behind
So our faith grows stronger in time
When it comes tomorrow
We won't feel the sorrow
We will take your hand
Walk through the stars
To God's promised land
So God can call to us
Having more stars to dust

How will heaven be?
As far as I can see
It will have huge bells
And will be situated on clouds
It will have many golden wells
That will so often swell
Rain will be abundant
And the sun will shine all day long
Angels will play on the harp
The sweetest summer song
Music that will touch the heart
While those beneath will shed drops of sorrow
Little will they know what will happen on the morrow
But to them up above
As plain and clear it will be
As far as far as I can see
Yes there will be misty alleys
And lush green meadows
Fresh with the fragrant smell of spring
Winter will never be bitter
Summer never so hot
Autumn never so bare
And resources never so scarce
Food for all will be relished by all.
Grateful we’ll be as grateful can be
Mountains high and strong and brown
Surrounding that hidden land,
Beautiful and vast seas I see
There colour as blue as sapphire can be
And the white waves lashing upon the shore
Sitting on the flattened grey rocks
Who would not call it absolutely heavenly?
However it might actually be,
But can we still not see
There will lie behind this seen
A relieving feeling of bliss
For where not have we been
But is this not by all believed
That after one’s decease
This is the land of eternal peace
Where we all ultimately reach?

You Meant So Much
You meant so much to all of us
You were special and that's no lie
You brightened up the darkest day
And the cloudiest sky

Your smile alone warmed hearts
Your laugh was like music to hear
I would give absolutely anything
To have you well and standing near

Not a second passes
When you're not on our minds
Your love we will never forget
The hurt will ease in time

Many tears I have seen and cried
They have all poured out like rain
I know that you are happy now
And no longer in any pain

love theresa xx
